About Us
Club Philosophy
Main Line Soccer (MLS) is a youth soccer organization that offers a wide range of youth travel soccer teams created to maximize the development of every soccer player consistent with their skill level and commitment, while realizing today's student-athletes have many other competing activities and interests. We strive to provide an environment conducive to the development of the student-athlete through quality training and competition using the finest facilities in the area.
Time Commitment
MLS teams typically play in the Central League, which encompasses teams from the surrounding areas. The fall is a 10-12 week season that runs from August to November. Teams will have two practice sessions a week and league games on the weekends (approx. 8 games). Teams will also participate in two to three tournaments. All teams are off from mid-November through the end of December. During the winter months of January to early March teams gather for six weekly futsal training sessions and teams also enter a local futsal or YSC league. The spring season spans from mid-March through May. Practice occurs once a week with a league game on weekends (approx. 5 games).
Coaching
Main Line Soccer teams and players will be offered quality coaching from some of the area's top youth coaches. Training sessions and home games will take place on the pristine campus of The Episcopal Academy. The overall aim is for the children to have fun while learning and playing, with long-term focus on player development. The emphasis in practices will be on individual skill and technique while fostering teamwork, sense of fair play, and overall respect of the game.
MLS was co-founded by Director of Coaching, David Knox and Coach Joe May.
